PWA raises $16,000 for Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital
|
The 4th Annual Pennsylvania Wireless Association Golf Tournament was held September 10th, 2009 and the event was our most successful to date. More than 140 golfers descended on the beautiful Deer Valley Golf Club in Hummelstown, PA and helped contribute more than $16,000 in charitable proceeds to benefit the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
Deer Valley was once again in perfect condition thanks to PGA Head Professional Bill Wall and his team. In warm, but windy conditions the team of Tonia Vincent and Adam Cummins of Smartlink and Mike Stricker of Charles G. Allen fired a flawless 9 under par round to finish in first place. Congratulations goes out to them as they donned their first PWA Championship jackets and to all of the participants that made this such a successful day.
Without the support of our many wonderful sponsors from the wireless industry, this event would not have grown to what it has become today. Since the tournament's inception more than $47,000 has been donated to this worthy cause. The money raised this year will once again help Penn State Hershey improve the quality of life and provide everyday comforts for children staying in the hospital. PWA would like to thank all the sponsors and golfers for their continued commitment and we look forward to seeing you again at Deer Valley next September.
The success of this event once again underscores the commitment of the PWA and its members to support worthy recipients that provide critically needed services to local communities in Pennsylvania. The PWA is proud to partner with the Hershey Medical Center in its special focus to care for sick children. If past trends for this particular event can be used as a guide, the PWA expects even more involvement from its members in the coming year as it continues to partner with the Hershey Medical Center to support its mission to provide world class medical care. Looking forward to this September,
Chris Pleibel President Pennsylvania Wireless Association
